Be Still,

Psalms 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

This morning as I was getting ready to do my quiet time and reflecting on all of the pictures I have been  looking at from Belize, I felt overwhelmed!  I sensed God wanting me to just "be still".  Not to just read my Bible and pray, but to just think about him and praise him for what He had done all week.  When I thought about the little boy Nelson who gave his heart to God, I thought about how great our God is!  When I looked back at the songs we sang, the prayers we prayed, the work we did, my mind went to God!  The one who was there for it all, the one who was there before we even arrived!  Then I began to flip through Psalms.  Chapter after chapter is filled with words like this..."Praise the Lord", "Sing to the Lord a new song", "I will exalt you, my God the King;  "I will praise your name for ever and ever."

Although it should always be a given that we praise and acknowledge God for all he has done, I know I am guilty at looking at other things...like myself!  I say things like, "I got to....", "I saw....", "I prayed for...".  Today I want you to know what God did in Belize.  He saved people!  He delivered people from darkness!  He gave people hope!  He instilled a dream in a pastor for a lost community!  He gave us strength!  He protected our minds and hearts from the enemy!  He gave us safety!  He encouraged people!  And yes, He even made an outside shower bearable!  That is powerful!  That is our God!

Below is the picture of the sweet little boy named Nelson that I mentioned earlier who gave his heart to Jesus last week.  Do you know why?  Because God ordained it to be.  God put him there at that moment at that time to hear the gospel and he gladly accepted it.  Maybe he had heard it before, maybe not, but I praise God that however it happened, it happened because of our great and mighty God.  Praise the name of the Lord!!

"Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation."-Psalms 95:1
